Meat and animal products
Plants, seeds, and flowers

Why should you care?
Pests and diseases in plants and animals can have a devastating impact on the food supply, natural resources, and ecosystems, leading to decreased agricultural production and biodiversity loss. Additionally, they can negatively affect human and animal health, cause loss of natural habitats, and result in significant economic damage.
Dominican laws establish preventive measures and regulations to protect agriculture. These provisions aim to prevent the introduction and spread of pests and diseases by regulating international trade in food and agricultural products. Complying with these regulations helps safeguard natural resources, ensure food security, and protect the economy.
Important Considerations
Travelers entering the Dominican Republic (DR) should not bring agricultural or livestock products. Agro-sanitary inspectors will check their luggage and confiscate any prohibited items upon entry into the DR.
